We strive to improve the land entrusted to us through safe, honest, and skillful arboriculture and landscaping.

Our goal is to leave every property safer, healthier, and more beautiful than when we arrived.

Our Core Values

Every decision should support these values:

1. Safety

No job is so urgent that it cannot be done safely.

Every crew member has both the authority and the responsibility to stop work if something appears unsafe.

Crew members are expected to:

• Wear appropriate PPE.
• Inspect equipment before use.
• Communicate hazards clearly.
• Ask questions whenever uncertain.
• Never intentionally bypass safety procedures.
• Maintain awareness of drop zones, saw operation, traffic, terrain, overhead hazards, and other crew members.

Near misses should be discussed openly so the entire crew can learn from them.

2. Fitness for Duty

Tree work demands sound judgment, physical awareness, and the ability to respond quickly to changing conditions.

Crew members are expected to report to work mentally and physically capable of performing their duties safely.

Crew members shall not:

• Report to work under the influence of alcohol.
• Use illegal drugs while working.
• Misuse prescription medications in a manner that impairs safe work.
• Operate equipment while impaired by fatigue, illness, medication, alcohol, or drugs.

If a crew member believes they are not fit to safely perform work, they should notify Christian immediately.

Safety will always take precedence over production.

3. Professional Conduct

While representing Abundant Life Land & Tree LLC, crew members are expected to conduct themselves in a professional manner.

This includes:

• Treating clients with courtesy.
• Treating coworkers with respect.
• Maintaining professional language whenever practical.
• Resolving disagreements respectfully.
• Taking pride in appearance, workmanship, and jobsite presence.
• Remembering that clients often judge the company by the conduct of the crew.

4. Company Time

Company time is intended for company work.

Reasonable personal phone use is understood, particularly for family matters or urgent situations.

However, prolonged personal calls, unnecessary distractions, or activities unrelated to the day's work should be avoided.

When work is underway, each crew member is expected to remain engaged with assigned responsibilities.

5. Outside Business Activities

Abundant Life Land & Tree LLC respects that crew members may have outside employment or personal business interests.

However, while working for or representing the company, crew members shall not:

• Market or sell unrelated services.
• Solicit company clients for outside work.
• Conduct outside business during company work hours without prior approval.
• Use company jobsites as a place to promote another business.

Personal business should be conducted during personal time.

6. Client Relationships

Clients obtained through Abundant Life Land & Tree LLC are company clients.

Questions regarding the following should be referred to Christian unless another crew member has been specifically authorized:

• Estimates
• Pricing
• Scheduling
• Scope changes
• Contracts
• Billing or payment
• Promises regarding completion dates or additional services

Crew members may answer basic questions politely, but should avoid making commitments on behalf of the company unless authorized.

7. Company Information

Crew members may by-proxy become familiar with company pricing methods, estimating procedures, operational practices, customer relationships, need-to-know financial information, and business systems.

This information is shared to improve the effectiveness of the crew and should be treated respectfully.

Company information should not be shared outside the company without permission.

8. Equipment

Our equipment represents a significant investment and is essential to the safety and productivity of the crew.

Crew members are expected to:

• Operate equipment responsibly.
• Report damage immediately.
• Clean tools after use when appropriate.
• Return equipment to its designated location.
• Report maintenance needs promptly.
• Use tools only for appropriate tasks.
• Secure equipment during transport.

No one will be criticized for reporting accidental damage promptly. Hidden damage creates greater danger than honest communication.

9. Care of Client Property

We treat every property as though it belongs to our own family.

Crew members should:

• Protect lawns whenever practical.
• Minimize unnecessary damage.
• Keep work areas organized.
• Respect fences, landscaping, vehicles, outdoor furniture, and neighboring property.
• Leave the site cleaner than it was found whenever possible.
• Inform Christian immediately if accidental property damage occurs.

10. Learning

Tree work is a lifelong craft.

Questions are encouraged. Ideas are welcome. Mistakes should become lessons rather than repeated problems.

Knowledge is meant to improve the entire team.

Crew members are encouraged to grow in skill, judgment, safety awareness, plant knowledge, equipment handling, and professionalism.

11. Communication

Good communication prevents accidents and protects relationships.

Crew members should:

• Speak up about hazards.
• Ask for clarification when unsure.
• Inform Christian of scheduling conflicts as early as possible.
• Communicate respectfully even when disagreements occur.
• Report injuries, near misses, equipment problems, client concerns, and property damage promptly.

12. Growth

Abundant Life Land & Tree LLC is still a young company.

As we grow, our systems, procedures, and expectations will continue to improve.

This handbook is intended to provide a foundation that can evolve over time.

Future updates may include additional policies regarding payroll, scheduling, benefits, safety training, equipment operation, job roles, or company procedures.

13. Leadership, Authority & Responsibility

Every member of the crew has an important role in delivering safe, professional, high-quality work. While responsibilities differ, everyone is expected to contribute to the success of the team.

Owner

The Owner is responsible for the overall operation of Abundant Life Land & Tree LLC, including:

• Client communication and relationships
• Estimating and pricing
• Contracts and invoicing
• Scheduling and work assignments
• Work planning and methodology
• Equipment acquisition and maintenance
• Safety expectations
• Final operational decisions

While input from the crew is encouraged and valued, the Owner is ultimately responsible for the outcome of every project and therefore retains final decision-making authority.

Crew Members

Crew members are responsible for:

• Performing assigned work safely and professionally.
• Looking out for the safety of fellow crew members.
• Caring for company equipment.
• Communicating hazards, concerns, and observations.
• Asking questions when uncertain.
• Completing assigned tasks to the best of their ability.
• Continuing to learn and improve their skills.

Crew members are encouraged to share ideas that improve safety, efficiency, quality, or customer service. Constructive feedback is welcomed and considered.

Stop Work Authority

Safety is everyone's responsibility.

Any crew member who believes an operation presents an unreasonable safety risk has both the authority and the responsibility to call for a temporary stop to work.

The situation will then be evaluated by the Owner before work resumes.

No crew member will be criticized or disciplined for raising a good-faith safety concern.

Unity of Command

During active operations, work is coordinated through the Owner or the individual designated by the Owner to lead a particular operation.

This helps prevent conflicting instructions, misunderstandings, and unsafe situations.

Questions, suggestions, and concerns are always welcome, but once a work plan has been established, the crew is expected to work together to execute that plan safely unless new information or hazards require it to be reevaluated.

Shared Responsibility

Every successful project belongs to the entire crew.

Likewise, protecting our clients, our equipment, our reputation, and one another is a shared responsibility.

The strength of this company depends on every person doing their part with integrity, professionalism, and respect.
